Internet Better Than Books Essay

Internet Versus Books Essay

This essay discusses the role of internet and web browsers on the communication practices in the modern world and also how the age of books and libraries are coping on communication practices since all knowledge and information can easily be acquired through electronic means. The essay further explores the repercussions of the internet and web browsers, and if it has an edge over the age of books and libraries on communication practices in the modern world.

It is important to note that the internet and web browsers in modern day have become an avenue of entertainment, communication, which is widely used in research and as a reference tool. This feature has had a huge impact on the communication practices in the modern world. At the same time, there has been concern by some people that the age of books and libraries was diminishing since all knowledge and information could be acquired through electronic means. This concern has focused mostly on the advantages the internet and web browsers have as compared to those of books and libraries and how their influences outweigh the benefits to the society. This essay therefore, presents an argument that the internet and web browsers have not far outweighed the use of books and libraries in the modern world

There is need to understand what the internet and web browsers are. According to Kotler, Armstrong (2004) the internet is a vast and burgeoning global web of computer networks with no central management or ownership. Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines a web browser as a computer program used for accessing sites or information on a network (as the World Wide Web). This is a simple, yet accurate description. Web browsers come in many different styles, each with their own nuances. However, the main reason a person utilizes a web browser is to view web pages on the Internet.

A book on the other hand is described as a set of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of ink, paper, parchment, or other materials, usually fastened together to hinge at one side, whereas the Oxford dictionary defines a library as a building or room containing a collection of books and periodical for use by the public or the members of an institution. It provides physical or digital access to material, and may be a physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both.

It is important to note that communication practices include all ways of ensuring that a person's voice is heard by different people, in different languages, at different levels, in different contexts and at different times. There are many different ways to communicate, through reading, writing, speaking, listening, visual means, technology, the media and numeracy. It is in this context that the internet and web browsers have already had a major impact on how people find and access information, and now the rising popularity of books and libraries...

Bro we r using internet currently to search up the information and we are not using a book. All those idiots who said yes are dum cuz they use internet for this debating topic and not a book. Like bruh wth.OOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FEEL THE BURN!!!!!!!!! R u my angel cuz I m ur demgod!!!!!!!!!!!OOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FEEL THE BURN!!!!!!!!! ROASTED!!!!!!!!

  • Books are so dumb!

Book are such a waste of time... The Internet or Google is way faster and gives you way more information! I think that books are too old, have you every thought of coming into style? I HATE books first of all I hate reading and books hardly ever give you what you want anyway!

  • Books are never cool!!!

Books are getting older these days they are of no use. Internet just gives you information of whatever u search u search for the bad word it gives information on the bad word because u have typed. However e-books are coming on internet so just keep those books aside and use internet.NO the end product will never be a book because the author has used internet for some purpose right he has researched from the internet right. So whoever chose books are better get jagged by reading this.Like this if u people think its right.

  • What was present before Internet

People started to write and read from an ancient time, so during that time, they had lots of vocabularies in compared to the present days.
This made them think many things as well as to publish it gradually .
So was it due to the Internet? NO!! But as it is growing faster , it isn't helping the young generations to go and know the different vocabularies that they need.
I want to say that the Internet is just killing the vocabularies as well as thinking power of a person.

  • The Internet is better in many ways

First of all, the content. Internet has evolved since the past decades. Back in the 90's, internet is just like a screen version of books, where there are only texts and images. Now, it has texts, images, videos, audio and flash. Second, the way of learning. There are other ways to learn than just reading. If one wants to learn but doesn't want to read, he can listen to audios, watch videos, or interact with flash contents. In books you are forced just to read, read and read. Third, it is easier to find what you need to learn. You can find whatever you need to learn in just a matter of seconds just by searching through the net. It's way too convenient! In books, you may need to go to different libraries just to find a single book, only to find out that the book you've been looking for doesn't have the topic that you want to read and learn. Fourth, it saves space and money. In book, you need to buy them at expensive prices, need to box them or to occupy a shelf or even own a library to store them. In internet, almost all information is given for free, and all you need is either a phone, a laptop, a tablet or a PC to store and view those information. Lastly, many of us are not bookworms. Admit it, books don't catch the interest of many students. Many of them are just forced to reading it because they are required to be read as told by their teachers or professors. But why are you reading internet articles or tutorials if you are not forced to read or view them? It is because you like it! It sprouts interest in many of us. Its many style to present information can easily get the fascination of most of our students today. Sooner after some time, it will inevitably be improved again. Added is the fact that many just prefer the books because it came first than the internet. It's what we call the "Law of First", which points that whatever or whoever came first is considered the best. For example, "The Beatles" is considered the best band because of their legacy, and any newer bands that will sprout out today will never surpassed the greatness of that band, simply because they're first. Supposed the internet came out first than the book, which is better in any way anyway, can you still say that books are better when they just came out a few years ago?

  • No, books are not better then the internet.

The Internet is a much more interactive place to learn then a common book. A book does not offer additional research tools and information. The Internet has a large amount of resources available alongside the text that is being read. This is why books are not better then the Internet.

  • Definitely Not!!!! Books Are Ancient Things

First of all, in what way would books possibly be better than the Internet? In my opinion, books are not even as good as TV. The majority of the Internet is text. All books have is text. The Internet has way more information than probably all books combined plus videos, recent weather forecasts, e-mails and virtually anything else you might want. Also, with the Internet I can search for nearly anything I want unlike with a book. The Internet is way more convenient than a book and provides extra things that books do not have. So, how are books better than the Internet in any way? Also, why was the Internet invented after books if books were better than the Internet? If books were better than the Internet, the Internet would never have even been invented. Books may be comparable to television, but certainly not the Internet! I can understand people who compare books to television and even then I disagree, but comparing books to the Internet is too much.

  • Takes so much time to look for the reliable and specific topic to be found while in the internet you just in search engines

Got the book that has the general topic but the contents aren't the things you have been looking for; it takes so much time to look in he library for books like class mates are done with their work because of the computer section in the library and it took much time to finish the task at hand.

  • Books are better than the internet

Yes I agree that books are better then the internet. Books are better than the internet for educating and maintaining freedom. Books have nothing but knowledge which allows a person to concentrate while the internet has lots of other things to distract a person.
Books matter because they state ideas and them attempt throughly to approve them. They have an advantage precisely because they slow down the process allowing the reader to internalize, respond, react and transform. Books are indeed more reliable than the sources on the internet because they have been reviewed before publishing. The information of books stays for a long period while you may have the information on the internet changing ever hour. Books have been proved more reliable but the internet is conventional. You actually know that the source in books is legitimate then that on the internet. The internet has so much information, anything can post anything and you have no idea whether it is honest, true, or false. Internet itself came from books. Internet is full of cheat.
Using books references is better but consulting the internet sometimes isnt bad. Comparing our information and the internet information is a scientific trait. The internet is a faster way to gather information but books are a good thing as well, as their information is trustworthy. So at the end we reach the conclusion that using or consulting information should be done by both, books and internet, BUT in a safe way!

    Stay Safe!
By the way LAUGH OUT LOUD. Because all those who wrote before me, or will read this, are CONSULTING THE INTERNET. ROFL. Dumbo.
